The Forest _ Fairy tale between the city and the forest

Many things fill the city and it is still going on. Filling is the virtue of urban development. City of Detroit was kept filling its voids. Lots of buildings and infrastructures filled the city, and those became the symbol of Detroit. The rapid pace of growth is the result of filling. Downtown is represented new business and the Renaissance of Detroit. Many skyscrapers are filled in Downtown. However, the city needs space to breath. The city is too compact to communicate with people and nature. Public space and nature is not enough. The site is located at the nod of the radial street plan.  The site needs to fill by another way for the city breathing easy again.

The site is filled with voids, such as trees and the knoll. The forest creates rich stories with the city. The site has the nature and the public space which represented as the trees and the knoll. People will have diverse experience by spatial scale variation and variety of activity. The forest provides spaces more secure and smaller activities. In addition, people will have a experience the nature. The knoll is the part of forest. It have wide knoll for bigger activities like large-scale performing art. It, also, give a large canopy front of waterfront. The site will be landmark of the city without a high-rise building or a monumental building because of the big contrast of spatial mass.
